You can create a gallery from any booked session in Session, whether it is a full session or a mini session, and the flow is almost identical for both. Because galleries live inside Session, all the client info, deliverables, and upsell settings are already there when you create it.
Here’s the global way to think about it 👇
Where you create galleries from
Always start from the booking itself.
- Go to Sessions (for full sessions) or your Mini session overview.
- Click the client/spot you want to deliver photos to.
- In the right panel you’ll see Client gallery.
- Click Create gallery.
That’s it — a brand new gallery opens, already linked to that booking.
What happens next
Inside the gallery you can:
- Upload your photos
- Reorder/shuffle and choose a cover photo
- Check Deliverables (this is pulled from what the client booked — e.g. 10 photos included, upsell enabled)
- Publish right away or schedule for later
- Share gallery to email the client or copy the link
- Give it extra protection with client code and optional password
- Create a Sneak peek if you want to tease them first
Because the gallery is tied to the booking, upselling works automatically — if they try to download more than their package includes, Session will ask them to pay first. Easy breezy.
Full sessions vs. mini sessions
Full sessions
- You create the gallery from the client’s booked session page (the one with booking details, invoice, contract, etc.)
- Perfect for single clients, weddings, lifestyle, brand work
- Delivery rules will come from that session’s packages
Mini sessions
- You create the gallery from the specific spot inside the mini
- All the galleries for that mini will then appear together in the mini session album in Galleries, so you can see who’s done and who isn’t
- You can even bulk publish/unpublish multiple galleries from that mini
So the “where” is different, but the “what you do next” is the same.
Tips
- Create galleries right after editing so everything stays tied to the booking.
- Want extra security? Open Private content? in the gallery sidebar and set a password.
- Need to send it later? Just schedule it.
- Running minis? Create the first gallery — Session will group the rest for you.
