How to unpublish your client galleries

If you need to temporarily take a gallery down — maybe you want to make some updates to the images, or the gallery expired and you’re cleaning things up — you can unpublish it. Unpublishing does not delete the gallery or the photos. It just changes the status back to Unpublished so clients can’t view it.

1. Open the gallery

You can do this from either place:

  • Galleries (top nav) → click the gallery
  • From a booking → open the client’s booking and click the gallery on the right

2. Toggle off “Published”

In the left sidebar you’ll see the status panel.

  • If it currently says Published, flip the toggle OFF.
  • The status will change to Unpublished.

Rest assured, the gallery will not be deleted; it will simply be changed from “Published” to “Unpublished” status. All your images, deliverables, favorites, and settings stay right there.

3. What clients see

Once unpublished:

  • Clients will no longer be able to view or download the gallery using the link.
  • When you’re ready, you can publish it again with one click.

This is great for: edits, swapping images, extending expiration, or pausing access.

4. Expiration vs. unpublishing

  • Expiration (set under Manage > Gallery settings or per gallery) automatically hides galleries after a certain date.
  • Unpublishing is manual — you decide when to turn it off.

You can use both together: have a global expiration, and still manually unpublish when needed.

5. Minis and bulk actions

From a mini session album you can select multiple client galleries and unpublish in bulk — handy when you’re rotating access or archiving a whole mini.
