How to set your gallery deliverables

Gallery deliverables tell Session, “This is what this client actually gets in their download.” Once you set them, Session can do the magic — count selected photos, block extra downloads, and upsell more digitals without you lifting a finger.

You can set deliverables in two places:

  1. At booking (via packages & fees) – best for consistency
  2. Inside the gallery (per client) – best for one-offs or exceptions

Let’s walk through it.

1. Set deliverables from your packages (recommended)

If you already created packages for a session type (example: 10 photos included, Full gallery, 15 images + print credit), Session will pass those deliverables to the gallery automatically.

Why this is great:

  • Client books → Session knows how many photos they paid for
  • Gallery you create later → already shows “Photos: 10” (or whatever the package includes)
  • Upselling rules you turned on for that session → also come through

So if you want every Family Session to include 25 images, set that in the Packages & fees for that session type first.

2. Adjust deliverables inside the gallery

Sometimes you need to tweak it just for this client — maybe you gifted 5 extra images, or they won a giveaway.

Open the client’s gallery and look for Deliverables in the left sidebar. Here you can:

  • Set how many photos are included
  • Turn upselling on/off
  • Set a price per extra photo
  • Offer full gallery for a flat fee
  • Or even add a % discount for the whole gallery

This update applies to this gallery only, not all future bookings.

3. How upselling works (the fun money part)

When upselling is on:

  1. Client selects more photos than their included amount
  2. Session shows them the total for the extra digitals
  3. They pay right there
  4. Then they can download

No chasing. No “Can you send me an invoice?” Just “you picked more → pay → done.”
You can charge per photo and/or offer “buy the entire gallery.”

4. Why deliverables matter

  • Keeps promises clear (“You get 15 photos”)
  • Prevents accidental full downloads
  • Lets you run a low-key sales flow without being salesy
  • Perfect for minis where every spot might have the same package

Tips

  • If you run minis, set deliverables in the mini’s packages first — every gallery made from that mini will inherit them.
  • If you upgraded a client later, just open the gallery and bump their allowed photo count.
  • Want to deliver finals only? Make sure Delivery mode is set to your final-delivery setup inside the gallery.
