To keep booking fair, Session automatically puts a temporary hold on a spot as soon as a client begins the booking process.
- We hold the spot for 15 minutes from the moment they start booking.
- During that time, no one else can take that spot — it’s protected for the person currently filling out the form, signing the contract, choosing add-ons, etc.
- As the 15 minutes is close to running out, the client can extend the hold for another 15 minutes so they can finish booking.
Photographer override (force end the hold)
If you see a spot marked “In progress” — maybe you were testing the booking flow or a client abandoned it — you can click that spot and end the hold manually. This frees the spot up right away so someone else can book it. Super handy when you’re doing test bookings or a client says, “I started but I can’t finish — can you reopen that time?”
