Overview
Session is built so you can collect money at the time of booking. You connect your own payment provider and Session uses that to process payments. Because payments go through your own account, Session does not take a commission. Your payment provider will still charge its normal processing fees.
Supported providers
Session works with the main providers photographers use, including Stripe, Square, PayPal, and Venmo.
Ways to charge
- Collect the full session fee at booking
- Collect a retainer at booking and collect the rest later
- Choose to collect payment outside of Session on a per session basis if that is your workflow
This gives you flexibility for minis, higher priced full sessions, or returning clients.
Payment options you can enable
- Card payments through your connected provider
- Apple Pay and Google Pay when your provider supports them
- Klarna (buy now, pay later) through Stripe only so clients have a flexible way to pay
- Tipping at checkout
- Your preferred currency
How it works
A client books in Session. Checkout shows the payment methods and payment rules you have enabled. The payment is processed by your provider and the money goes straight to your account. Session marks the booking as paid or partially paid so you can see the status.
